The majority of Oswego High School members of the “Class of 2012” is preparing for life after high school. A substantial number of students will be bound for colleges, universities or the military while others plan to enter the workforce.
Minetto Elementary School sixth graders were in the spotlight at the annual honors program conducted before a cafeteria-packed with parents, friends, family and staff members. Principal Dr. Dean Goewey presented certificates to each sixth grader and also recognized several other students with special awards.
The measure, which is co-sponsored by Senator David Valesky, and sponsored by Assemblyman Will Barclay in the Assembly; was sparked by an arrest in Oswego County, where authorities discovered a South Carolina man who was wanted for attempted murder, kidnapping and possession of a weapon, was fleeing the law and receiving New York State benefits.

The St. Luke-Boyce Memorial Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Aug. 11 at the Battle Island State Park Golf Course. The format is four-person captain and crew.
