Mexico resident Cali DeSanto, daughter of Anthony and Paula DeSanto, was given the Dean’s Award from Ithaca College’s School of Health Sciences and Human Performance.
For owners of historic properties, it’s challenging to find architectural elements, hardware and fixtures to replace lost or damaged originals. One solution to the problem will be explored on June 2 at 10 a.m., at the Heritage Foundation of Oswego County, 143 W. Third St., Oswego.
Members of the Oswego chapter of the MOMS Club, or Moms Offering Moms Support, recently visited Oswego Hospital’s maternity center to donate two baskets of various items for women in labor.
The Oswego Public Library and the Oswego Film Group are pairing a screening with a book and film discussion on June 25 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library (120 East Second Street).
Every month Oswego Public Library’s Public Computing Center offers free computer courses and workshops and the month of June is no different. Offerings in June include 2 sections of Introduction to Computers, one on Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, and one on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
A silent auction is one of the events taking place at the 13th Annual Oswego County Hospice Cup Regatta on June 2 at the International Marina/Oswego Yacht Club. The silent auction will take place during the reception, from 4 to 7 p.m
On Friday May 18, Jonathan Snow, Dr. Ann Scanlon and three other members of the Board of Directors of the John Ben Snow Foundation stopped by for a tour of our facility in Richland. They were greeted by the smell of fresh baked goods coming from our kitchen, courtesy of Erma Schroeder, as well as the pleasant surprise of our new entryway.
At recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Donna Kestner presented Peter Allen with the coveted Paul Harris Award. Peter is the founder of the Thank A Service Member organization.
Presented annually, the OCO’s Amelia Whelahan Leadership Award recognizes a staff member who has made outstanding contributions to OCO and the Human Services profession. The award is given in the memory of Amelia Whelahan, a dedicated and committed member of the Oswego County Opportunities family for many years.
