AmeriCorps is a national service program. Members learn valuable skills while receiving a living allowance and earning an education award for tuition or student loans.

The Oswego County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs (OCFSC) recently held its annual banquet to honor several recipients for their hard work and support.

Over the past 40 years, there have been five fatal human cases of the Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus in Central New York. Two of those cases occurred in Oswego County in the last three years. With summer soon upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the steps that the county health department is taking to prepare for the upcoming EEE season.

The groups are open to people who take care of  a spouse or domestic partner who is chronically ill or who suffers from Alzheimer’s or a related illness. All are welcome.

The State University of New York at New Paltz will hold the May 2012 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on May 20 at 10 a.m. on the Old Main Quadrangle.

An executive session at the beginning of the meeting will discuss matters of personnel and litigation at 5 p.m. The public portion of the meeting will reconvene at 6 p.m.

Carol Burghart, a Lakeside Artisans member, will teach a class in Watercolor Painting on May 24 from 6-9 p.m. The class will take place at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St.
