Vauter took advantage of leader Mike Mahaney’s misfortune when he had to get hard on the brakes to avoid a car ahead of him that got out of shape, that let Vauter shoot to the lead on lap 29. Then Vauter was able to survive a late yellow to go onto the popular win.
The Ice Cream Social, which is always a highlight of the summer in Oswego Town, will be held July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Oswego Town Park. The park is located next to the Town Hall on 22320 County Route 7.
The Oswego Public Library returns to summer hours this week and will be closed on Sundays until after Labor Day. It will also be closed on Wednesday, July 4 for the holiday.

Bertha Mae Kelly, 89 passed away peacefully, in no apparent pain, at home with family at her bedside, after a short battle with maxillary sinus cancer and much longer battle with suspected Alzheimer’s disease, on Saturday June 23, 2012, in Carlsbad, California.
