Bertha Mae Kelly, 89

FULTON, NY – Bertha Mae Kelly, 89 passed away peacefully, in no apparent pain, at home with family at her bedside, after a short battle with maxillary sinus cancer and much longer battle with suspected Alzheimer’s disease, on Saturday June 23, 2012, in Carlsbad, California.

Born June 25, 1922, in Watertown, NY, she lived in Carlsbad with husband, Donald Paul Kelly (deceased September 7, 2006) and daughter, Valerie G. Browne.

She was primarily a homemaker, but worked with husband Donald at J.R. Wood Company in Atwater, California, until they both retired in 1996.

The pair returned to where they met and lived, Fulton, NY, to enjoy family and friends during early retirement; moved to Centralia, Illinois, to spend time with family and friends; and returned to San Diego County, California, for their final years with family.

Bertha was preceded in death by husband of 27 years, Donald Paul Kelly; and husband Harold Howard Bronner of 32 years; her father and mother, Nicholas Cleophous Martin and Lida May Landon; brother, Nicholas Martin; sister, Mary Martin; and sadly by great-grandson, David Wayne Morrison II.

She is survived by daughter, June Marie Conklin of Martville, NY; son, Harold Alan Bronner; daughter, Jeanette Patricia Morrison of Fulton, NY; daughter, Valerie G. Browne of Carlsbad, Calif.; daughter, Annette Anita McKee; stepsons, Donald Paul Kelly Jr., of Liverpool, NY, Richard William Kelly of Tucson, Ariz., Donegan Lee Kelly of Modesto, Calif., Michael Patrick Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz., Kathleen Anne Erickson of Modesto, Calif., Maureen Anne Nancarrow of Idaho; grandchildren, Dale Conklin, Jeff Conklin, Maureen LaBrake, Melanie S. Conklin, Pete LaBrake, Melony Simpson, Alicia Bronner, Jack Morrison II, Michael Morrison, Christopher Morrison, David Morrison, Valerie Mae Browne, Johnathan Bronner, Dempsey Hovland, Scott Hovland, Dante Hovland; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., with funeral service for Bertha and memorial service for Donald Paul to follow at 1 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton, with Mount Adnah Cemetery as the final resting place for the loving pair.
