“With a record attendance of nearly 200, we had another great turnout for this program,” said Paul Lear, site manager of Fort Ontario State Historic Site. “In fact, we received such an overwhelming response that we had to turn away another 30 or 40, unfortunately, because we were at capacity.”
For the month of May, the money raised from the purple hair extensions at In Vogue Salon & Spa will go to Terri’s Team Row Row Row Our Boat 4 A Cure. Terri Pettie i is a two-time survivor of breast cancer.

The SUNY Oswego music and theatre departments will present the hits of a legendary Broadway songwriting team in “The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein” at 8 p.m. May 4 and 5, and 2 p.m. May 6, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
The Friends of History In Fulton, N Y, Inc. will hold a chicken barbecue at the Pavilion on Bullhead Point, Route 3 West, on May 6, from 11:30 a.m. until sold out.

The signature gala will be held at the American Foundry Saturday. The venue will allow for ballroom dancing and interactive costumed actors that include SUNY Oswego students as well as community performers dressed in period costumes.
SUNY Oswego’s GENIUS Olympiad has chosen as finalists 248 science, art, creative writing and architectural design projects from around the globe, and will invite their high school-age authors and the students’ mentors to spend June 24-29 in Oswego.
Gary Izzo, a 1980 theatre alumnus and veteran playwright and producer, will direct the student cast and lead the faculty and student crew for the play, focused on a lovers’ trap in the Italian Renaissance.
