The state Senate today (April 30) passed a bill cosponsored by Senator Patty Ritchie that bans the possession of synthetic marijuana.

The Fulton Boys’ Lacrosse program with be hosting a carwash along with bottle and can drive on Saturday. The time will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Sweet Inspirations.

Several local residents are scheduled to complete their graduate studies this year at SUNY Oswego and will be recognized May 12 at the college’s 151st Commencement.

Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward met recently with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce’s Fulton Project Bloom committee to proclaim Saturday Mayberry Day in the city of Fulton.

Benjamin June, the SUNY Oswego Student Association’s Miss-A-Meal commissioner, presented a check for $4,092.16 to Jessica Leigh Ryan, a representative of the St. Bernard Project in New Orleans for the continuing relief of victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Celebrating its 60th year, the Fulton Elks will launch the spring carnival season with their 60th Annual May Day Celebration and Bike Giveaway on May 4 and 5. The festival includes live entertainment, food, music, dancing, midway rides, concessions and games, activities and more on both days.

The one-day workshop, cleverly titled “From Make Believe to Manuscript,” will be led by local author and poet Jim Farfaglia and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
