The Hannibal Democratic Committee’s annual chicken barbecue will be held on May 6 at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street. The barbecue will run from noon until 3 p.m. or until the chicken is gone.

Assemblyman Will Barclay expressed disappointment that the U.S. Department of Labor’s decision to re-propose its parental exemption language does not guarantee changes allowing children to work on family farms other than their parents’.

The agency is looking for people who would like to become foster families, particularly for children ages 14 and over. Families are especially needed for teenagers who have specific supervision needs.
