Proceeds from the raffle support the St. Luke–John Foster Burden Fund, which benefit those served by St. Luke and Bishop’s Commons on their Oswego healthcare campus, at Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton, and throughout our community.
Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist and District Clerk Bill Foley, in conjunction with Oswego High School teacher Steve Cass and WBUC, produced three programs focusing on the budget, buses and proposition.
More than 300 volunteers scoured the canal corridor including the roadways on both sides of Oswego River, adjacent parking lots, grass and shrub embankments, and pedestrian pathways as well as lake view areas east of Fort Ontario to Rudy’s in the west. They did so with good spirit and stories to tell.

Elizabeth Lawrence, a senior accounting major from Sandy Creek received a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence at a recent ceremony in Albany.
Assemblyman Will Barclay said it’s the Assembly’s turn to take up legislation to penalize users of synthetic drugs. “This is the next step to combating these drugs. There has to be consequences for users, similar to how marijuana or illegal narcotic users are penalized,” said Barclay.
The Oswego County Legislature recognized wrestler Tyler Button with a certificate at their April meeting. Button received the title of New York State Division II Wrestling Champion after his 1st place finish in the 145-pound weight class.
With more than 1,700 SUNY Oswego students eligible to take part in May 12 Commencement ceremonies, many are already finding paths in their chosen fields.
