The action effectively eliminates onerous ballast water treatment requirements through the end of 2013.  The agency’s ballast water regulations are the most stringent in North America and have been the topic of considerable controversy.

The Public Computing Center at Oswego Public Library is pleased to welcome a new technology instructor, Crystal Wilcox. She joined the PCC team of director Theresa Slosek and instructor Jessica Galvin on Feb. 9.

Deana Michaels, Fulton branch manager for PathFinder Bank and a member of the Fulton Lions Club, made a donation to the club on behalf of the bank in support of the Lions’ Pancake Breakfast, Labor Day Duck Derby, and Lions Loot Sweepstakes.

For nearly a decade the local fraternal organization has rallied to assist education with the donation of hundreds of student dictionaries to third graders throughout the Oswego City School District.

Young writers came from all parts of Oswego County to join Farfaglia’s class. Some came to have fun and enjoy their hobby of writing, others hoped to expand their knowledge for future careers as novelists, memoirists, journalists and even lyricists.

State Senator Patty Ritchie recently met with ARISE, a Central New York non-profit Independent Living Center, that works with disabled individuals in Oswego County.

The workshop will consist of a presentation along with the exclusive E-Type test designed to uncover your true entrepreneurial personality and help you identify what potential businesses you should start.

Two items on the “Superintendent’s Report”  are expected to generate discussion as Superintendent Bill Crist will address the elementary school redistricting and an update for next year’s school budget.
