Fulton Sunrise Rotarians Hear About After-School Programs

President Peggy Donnelly, left, introduced Laura Licatese at a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting.  Laura is the After School Coordinator for Oswego County Opportunites (OCO) Educational Services.  Laura and her staff oversee approximately 70 to 100 students each day.  This program, for 10 to  18 year olds, provides a safe place to interact after school until 5:30.  Any student is welcome to attend.  Because of budget cuts, only three schools are involved this year - Fulton Middle, APW Middle and Hannibal.   Fulton Sunrise Rotary meets every Friday at 7 AM at Fulton's Riverside Inn.    This program, for 10 to 18 year olds, provides a safe place to interact after school until 5:30. Any student is welcome to attend.

Ted Panayotoff, lighthouse historian and chair of the Oswego Lighthouse Committee, is pictured with the original Class 4 Fresnel lens from the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse; on display at the H. Lee White Marine Museum. The H. Lee White Marine Museum is pleased to announce a three-part mini lecture series on the topic of the “Lighthouses of Oswego,” featuring Ted Panayotoff, lighthouse historian and city of Oswego Lighthouse Committee chair who will discuss the various lights, the lighthouse keepers and related topics.

Oswego County Opportunities now has the means for people to make donations using their credit card.  They’ve added the PayPal function on the website. The agency also has expanded into social media with several Facebook pages, a MySpace page, a Twitter account, and more.
