Barenaked Ladies will be the featured headliner on Friday, July 29 with local favorite Frostbit Blue opening for the popular Canadian alternative rockers. Frostbit Blue will take the stage beginning at 7:30 PM, followed by Barenaked Ladies at 9:30 PM.
Oswego’s Bookmobile makes a stop May 31 — launch day for the bright vehicle acquired from Reynoldsville, Ohio — at SUNY Oswego, which is collaborating with the Oswego YMCA and the Oswego City School District to bring summer reading to students throughout the city in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Thanks to the efforts of the Fulton Noontime Rotary Club, the CYO program now has a new computer / game room where youth can use one of the several computers, enjoy board games and card games, or just spend time visiting and making new friends.
Thanks to the tremendous support we received from the community we were able to distribute hundreds of books to children along the parade route. It was wonderful to see the expressions on their faces and the appreciation of the parents.
The main part of the event will be a lunch basket auction, run by professional auctioneer Ted Sivers.
On their first day back from the patriotic Memorial Day holiday, Fairgrieve Elementary School students were greeted by a special visit from Fulton City Mayor Ronald Woodward.
A giant check for $800 was presented by the school to the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation to assist in the fight against childhood cancers on behalf of Fulton’s own, Tim Conners.
Kingsford Park Elementary School students Victoria Crisafulli, Willow-Su Knapp and Caitlin Lilly were joined by teachers Patty Dixon and Chris Castiglia as the students celebrated their awards in the annual Oswego Reading Council Writing Contest.
Tony Beckett, team leader, for the Group Study Exchange Team from England, spoke to the members of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary at their Thursday meeting. An operational police officer with the Greater Manchester Police, he works in the inner city areas of the city of Salford.
