Award winning student art work will be on display at the annual Oswego City School District Art Show. This year’s event will be held this weekend at the Oswego Art Guild Center on the Fort Ontario grounds. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.
SUNY Oswego’s RSVP program needs volunteers to advocate for adults in long-term care facilities in Oswego County, and will provide training in May.

“I am pleased and honored to be here to celebrate this special day for our newest inductees into the Oswego High School National Honor Society Owl’s Head Chapter,” said Oswego Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist. He was addressing the newest members of the National Honor Society Owl’s Head Chapter in a recent ceremony in the Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Director of Catholic Charities’ CYO program Jim Smiley announced that The Medicine Place in Fulton has signed on as a major sponsor for Catholic Charities’ inaugural CYO Rock the Rim for Youth Basketball Tournament. Scheduled for May 21 the tournament serves as a much-needed fundraiser for the CYO program.
Children at Oswego Head Start recently had a visit from The Cat in the Hat. The cat cooked the children green eggs and ham, and visited with children during lunch.
The fifth grade students from Mrs. Graber, Ms. Lewis and Ms. Conte’s classes at Kingsford Park School were recently involved in a special fundraiser to raise money for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Pathfinder Bank has partnered with the Tri-Oswego 2011 Triathlon as a sponsor of the upcoming event planned for June 25th and 26th in Oswego.
A limited number of entries are still available for teams interested in competing Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s inaugural CYO Rock the Rim Basketball Tournament.
The University Police Department at SUNY Oswego is one of eight winning agencies in this year’s New York Law Enforcement Challenge Program.
