APW Students Participate in Earth Day Cleanup in Their Community
Students at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School spent several hours working to clean up nearby Riverside Cemetery in Altmar recently in recognition of Earth Day and as part of the community service component of their Social Studies 12 – Economics and Participation in Government class taught by Steve Prusack.

The world famous Entergy Nuclear Harborfest Fireworks by Grucci of New York will be July 30 at approximately 9:30 p.m. For the 24th consecutive year, the Saturday night fireworks spectacular will highlight the annual admission-free music festival on the shores of southeast Lake Ontario.

John Wight Honored by CNY Association of Police Chiefs
Brewerton and Fulton Speedway owner John Wight was honored on Monday, April 25th by the Central New York Association of Police Chiefs with the “Citizen Commendation” award at the Association’s annual awards dinner at Justin’s Grill in East Syracuse.
OCO Welcomes New Board Members
Executive Director of Oswego County Opportunities, Diane Cooper-Courier introduced the new members of OCO’s Board of Directors during the agency’s annual meeting held April 27 at Springside at Seneca Hill. Cynthia Thrower, a mother of a 36-year old challenged son, is a community volunteer who is also involved in ministering to others. Daniel Thrower brings with him 45 years of experience as a pastor, corrections counselor, teacher and business owner.
Cayuga Community College Hosts Book Drive For United Way
Faculty, staff and students of Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus are accepting donations of new and gently used children’s books for the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Success By 6 Program. The book drive is to collect children’s books for distribution during Fulton’s annual Memorial Day Parade.
