Wal-Mart Lends Support To ‘Stone Soup Too’ Luncheon

Employee volunteers from the Wal-Mart Supercenter meet with members of the United Way’s ‘Stone Soup Too’ Luncheon Committee to finalize the details for a food drive. Standing from left are: Resource Development Director for the United Way of Greater Oswego County, Lois Luber; Community Involvement Coordinator, Michele Sherman; Events VAP, Lori Lyons; Community Involvement Coordinator, Angela Blanchard; Volunteer, Jaime Prusinowski; and Coordinator of Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Kinship Support Program, Jonathan Gilmore. With plans for the United Way’s Third Annual ‘Stone Soup Too’ Luncheon under way, the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Route 3 in Granby will be lending its support to the event by hosting a food drive on March 19.

Fulton 5th and 6th Graders Give Wrestling a Try

A large group of Fulton City School District fifth and sixth grade boys and girls gathered together in the gymnasium at the Fulton Junior High School to give wrestling a try this week. The Fulton School wrestling coaches, several of the high school wrestlers, as well as some of the junior high wrestlers showed the students some basic stretches, how a match was run, how to score a match and talked to the group about the importance of sportsmanship and safety. Students were then broken down into weight classes by gender and allowed to participate in 4 short matches. Each student received a participation certificate for having fun and giving wrestling a shot. Here, Fulton High School Wrestler Nick Woodworth prepares to start a match between Jacob May from Granby Elementary and Cole Cotton from Lanigan Elementary. The Fulton School wrestling coaches, several of the high school wrestlers, as well as some of the junior high wrestlers showed the students some basic stretches, how a match was run, how to score a match and talked to the group about the importance of sportsmanship and safety

This is Winnie.   You can arrange to meet her by calling the Humane Society at 315-207-1070.Winnie is pretty, laid-back, and almost completely white except for a little patch of tabby color on her head. She was found in a remote trailer park in Scriba trying to get out of the cold by sneaking under trailers and crying at screen doors.
