Humane Society Launches Shop & Play in Oswego County Summer Raffle

Roger Baldwin, director of the Carpenter’s Local 747  Apprenticeship Program, Dan Capella, OCHS volunteer, and apprentice Tony  Savich, a recent graduate of the Oswego County BOCES carpentry program  with a prototype of the dog house to be donated to the raffle. On June 21st, the first day of summer, the Oswego County Humane Society will draw five winners from its Shop & Play in Oswego County Summer Raffle. To date, there are forty-four items in the raffle, all intended to help the winners enjoy their summer in Oswego County.

Local Residents Volunteer for Literacy

(LVOC) is proud to announce that its latest tutor class has graduated and is ready to start tutoring Oswego County adults. LVOC tutors complete 18-hours of training which includes how to teach adults basic literacy skills.

OCO’s March for Meals Campaign a Success

Director of OCO’s Senior Nutrition Service, Amy Roland is the  first in Oswego County to take the pledge to end senior hunger by 2020  during OCO’s March for Meals event.  The event served to increase the  awareness of the program and encouraged community members to help  support OCO’s Home Delivered Meal program by pledging to help end senior  hunger by 2020.  For more information on the program you may contact  Trinity Engle at 598-4712. Thanks to the generous support of concerned community members and the efforts of many volunteers, Oswego County Opportunities’ March for Meals Campaign successfully raised almost $1,000 and will provide an additional 400 meals for the many Oswego County seniors who participate in this popular program.
