Guides Offer Free Fly Fishing Classes to Disabled Veterans

Disabled veterans who have an interest in learning how to fly fish are invited to visit the Mexico VFW at 7 p.m. on Monday evenings for fly-tying classes. Disabled veterans who receive compensation from the VA are welcome to attend as many classes as they like, free of charge.

Christmas Cantata To Be Performed In Red Creek

This cantata tells the Christmas story using the idea of Christ as the Morning Star as a recurring theme throughout. Many familiar carols such as Ã¢â‚¬Å“Joy to the WorldÃ¢â‚¬Â as well as lesser known carols are combined to tell the story. The choir will conclude the cantata with Ã¢â‚¬Å“For Unto Us a Child is BornÃ¢â‚¬Â from HandelÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Ã¢â‚¬Å“Messiah.Ã¢â‚¬Â

Oswego County Legislature Recognizes Veteran’s Day

In honor of VeteranÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Day, the Oswego County Legislature recognized all veterans during their November meeting. Special attention was paid to the contributions of our local veterans who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

With the Red Kettle campaign well under way, the search for bellringers is still a priority for The Salvation Army of Oswego. There are still a large number of kettle slots that need bellringers for weekdays, evenings and Saturdays. Of critical need are bellringers the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Santa will appear at the Holiday Farmers Market.

The following locally grown and raised products will be available: fresh evergreen wreaths, honey, elk meat, local wine, cheese, alpaca fiber products (such as hats, mittens and scarves), potatoes, onions, apples, holly, berries, statice wreaths, maple syrup, and eggs.

Rotarians Hear About Fulton Schools Improvement Project
