Nearly a dozen representatives of the New York State Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs and Meals on Wheels programs from several counties met earlier this week to discuss the challenges each group is facing under current economic conditions and collaborate on strategies to manage those concerns.
“The Salvation Army has a very good reputation for providing services,†said Vernon Tryon, a member of the Oswego Salvation Army Board of Trustees. “I think that the public has a lot of trust in the Army to get things done and to do the job efficiently.â€ÂÂ
Charles E. Riley kindergarten students enjoyed the “It’s Alive†lesson brought to them by veteran Oswego High School teacher Thomas Altman.
Each year, the FLS Home and School Association in conjunction with the staff provide an opportunity to welcome and thank the drivers and guards while at the same time involve them with educating and assisting student safety.
Oswego High School senior Henrik Ehrhardt is a semifinalist in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program (16,000 semifinalists nationwide).
