The Oswego Tree Stewards and Boy Scouts of America Troop #888 recently partnered in Buffer in a Bag, an initiative of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Trees for Tribs Program.

Everyone is Madeline at the annual festival celebrating the title character of Ludwig Bemelmans’ well-loved children’s books. Stationed at Fort Ontario during World War I, he penned the series following his term in the U.S. Army.

The eagerly-awaited fabric sale fundraiser to support the Oswego County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego, is happening soon. The sixth annual fabric sale will be held on July 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.at the Believer’s Chapel located at 5375 State Route 3, Mexico.

The Oswego County Health Department’s Environmental Division will hold the 29th annual Tap Water Taste Contest June 27, from 4:15 to 8 p.m. at the Oswego Farmers’ Market on West First Street in Oswego.

Today’s national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $2.69, down six cents from last week. One year ago, the price was $2.89. The New York State average is $2.87 – down three cents from last week.
