Sheriff’s Summer Camp Continues
The Oswego County Deputies Association coordinates the event locally. The children will spend the next week enjoying land and water activities, in addition to interacting with Sheriff’s deputies who are the camp’s counselors.

Mini-Training: Story of Self Scheduled
This training will enable participants to use the “public narrative” methodology to tell their good story using proven techniques developed by Marshall Ganz. It will be held on July 23 from 5 – 7 p.m., in the Community Room at the Oswego City Library.

Allen Bjorkman Named Artist of the Month for July
Allen Bjorkman is being featured as Artist of the Month for July at the Riverside Artisans Cooperative, as he celebrates his 50th year as an artist. Bjorkman is well-known for his historic prints and restorations, but he is also an accomplished abstract artist.

Czirr Receives Recognition From Oswego County
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Cheri Czirr with a certificate of appreciation for her 30 years of service to the county. Czirr is a probation supervisor in the Oswego County Probation Department.

SUNY Oswego has named high-performing students from the area to the President’s List for spring 2018 for earning grade point averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale.

Continental Arms March In Fair Haven
Continental Arms Collectors Association’s Revolutionary War Unit continued its long-time tradition of participation in the annual Save Our Fourth Independence Parade, on July 5. The group interprets a company from the 1st New York Regiment, Continental Army, in 1782.

Pet Of The Week – Wendy
Wendy Darling is the sweet and loving caretaker of her litter, with remarkable tortoiseshell coloring throughout her soft fur. She certainly has a soft spot in her heart for all orphaned creatures and tends to mother her siblings with much love and attention. She will be available for adoption starting July 20.

Free Lead Testing Available through NYS Health Department
Residents who would like to have their drinking water tested for lead are encouraged to sign up for free testing through the New York State Department of Health. The program is available free of charge to all residents, whether they are served by a private well or public water system.
