The SUNY Oswego theatre department will present Shakespeare’s dark comedy “Much Ado About Nothing,” previewing at 8 p.m. April 19, and opening at 8 p.m. April 20 in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.

The Oswego Players will present the second production of their 2012 Season in late-April. Show dates are: April 27 and 28 at 8 p.m., May 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. and May 6 at 2 p.m.

SUNY Oswego’s Indie Music Series will feature a triple bill of Lost Lander, The Scarlet Ending, and Cu-Cu at 5 p.m. April 1, in the Hewitt Union lobby.

This spring concert will feature music from the movies Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Fantasia 2000, and Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings. Also featured will be an original work based on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and selections from the opera, Hansel and Gretel.

SUNY Oswego music faculty member’s Juan F. La Manna’s original composition “Three Pieces for Two Orchestras” will debut Tuesday as the College-Community Orchestra teams with the Oswego Middle School Orchestra. The free performance will take place at in the Ralph M. Faust Auditorium at Oswego High School.

Director Bobby Fontana has chosen and oldie, “Life with Father,” by Clarence Day, published shortly after the author’s death in 1938. Surprisingly, in research going back to the Players’ formation in, coincidentally, 1938, this will be the first Players’ presentation of this fine show.

The concert pairs musicians of two generations who share a goal of building bridges in a show wrapping Caravanserai, the yearlong exploration of Pakistani arts and culture at SUNY Oswego.
