Favorite songs of hit Broadway plays, from “The Sound of Music” to “Oklahoma!” will waft from the Waterman Theatre stage as the SUNY Oswego music department celebrates “An Evening of Rodgers and Hammerstein Classics” from May 4 to 6.

Aztec Two-Step’s Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman commemorated the band’s 40th anniversary by recording the new CD, Cause & Effect, released in January, 2012. They will take the stage at 8 p.m. on April 28 at the Oswego Music Hall, 41 Lake St.

This year’s Brunell Visiting Scholar—the world-renowned musician, humanitarian, and photographer Samite Mulondo – will be a featured presenter and performer on April 24 during a series of public events in Fulton, sponsored by the Cayuga Community College Foundation.

“Arts in Motion: Heroes for the American Red Cross” will be a culminating event that will give acknowledgement to those who have been donating and raising funds during the Red Cross’s recent Hero campaign.

Bobby Fontana, started out in March directing Clarence Day Jr.’s classic comedy, “Life with Father.” Knate Roy, originally cast as the father, had to bow out. Fontana made an attempt to replace him, however, with opening night looming, it became necessary for him to play the role himself.

The SUNY Oswego music and theatre departments will present the hits of a legendary Broadway songwriting team in “The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein” at 8 p.m. May 4 and 5, and 2 p.m. May 6, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
