Sandra Dowie is the featured artist for the month of October at the Oswego Public Library’s Art Gallery. A graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a degree in Art, and now a resident of Sterling, her favorite subject is horses. “I want to capture the horse’s personality and grace on my canvas. I seek to find the compassion that is ever present in his demeanor.”

The Oswego Opera Theater announces a Sunday afternoon concert to open the 2011-12 Season, historically its 33rd consecutive year. “Two Sopranos and a Mezzo” will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at 2:00pm in the Church of the Resurrection, 120 West 5th Street in Oswego, between West Bridge and West Cayuga Streets.
