SUNY Oswego will celebrate the life and career of Kathy Budd, a sculptor and art department faculty member who died last December, in an exhibition Oct. 21 to Nov. 19 at Tyler Art Gallery.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum is pleased to unveil a new, temporary exhibit entitled “Titanic: Commemorating the 100th Anniversary.” The exhibit will run Saturday, October 15, through Tuesday, November 15.
Sandra Dowie is the featured artist for the month of October at the Oswego Public Library’s Art Gallery. A graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a degree in Art, and now a resident of Sterling, her favorite subject is horses. “I want to capture the horse’s personality and grace on my canvas. The Oswego Opera Theater announces a Sunday afternoon concert to open the 2011-12 Season, historically its 33rd consecutive year. “Two Sopranos and a Mezzo” will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at 2:00pm in the Church of the Resurrection, 120 West 5th Street in Oswego, between West Bridge and West Cayuga Streets.
This year senior Emilie Benigno will lead the band onto the field in exhibition, but she will not only be directly nearly 100 classmates, but a substantial number of seniors. The seniors will all be recognized prior to the final retreat of the evening.
Seven years ago, the Ying Quartet performed the first program of the new Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series at SUNY Oswego.
The renowned ensemble returns to launch another varied season when it performs in the Sheldon Hall ballroom at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.
