Artswego Season to Offer Globe-spanning Feast of Music, Dance, Comedy

Step Afrika, a high-energy dance troupe skilled in the African art of stepping, provides a free show to open the 2010-11 Artswego Performing Arts Series at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 30 in SUNY Oswego's Campus Center arena. The series features music, dance and comedy performances from five continents, through mid-February.Artswego at SUNY Oswego launches its 2010-11 Performing Arts Series with a free, pulse-pounding appetizer of a performance by Step Afrika, follows up with the flavorful rhythms of Sol y Canto and moves on to music and dance entrees of international flair, with a side order of classic American comedy.

God Save The King And George Washington

The recreated armies of King George III and General George Washington will converge on historic Fort Ontario in Oswego for two days of living history activities on Aug. 14-15. The National Encampment of BAR was last held at Fort Ontario State Historic Site in 1996 and will feature volunteer reenactors from around the United States and Canada.

The Oswego Children’s Theater “Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids” Brings a Classic Tale to Life

The Oswego Children’s Theater Present "Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids" August 15, 21, and 22 at 2 p.m. at Hopkins Hall, in St. Mary’s Church, located at the corner of West Sixth and Cayuga Streets, in Oswego. Photo by Wayne A Mosher Jr.“Disney’s 101 Dalmations Kids” features a cast of about 60 area youth ranging in age from 3 to 17 and, is an example a case of a show being performed by children for children. This idea falls in line with The Oswego Children’s Theater’s goal of providing area children the opportunity to experience live theater performances.
