Phoenix Community Band Plans Holiday Concerts
The first concert will be held Dec. 9 at Great Northern Mall at 7 p.m. The second will be held Dec. 15 at JCB High School in Phoenix at 7 p.m.
The Oswego Children’s Theater will celebrate families this December, with their holiday twin bill production of Barbara Robinson’s “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and “Our Christmas Carol”, written by Wayne Mosher Jr.
Mark Rust comes from a musical family. His grandmother immigrated to America in the 1920’s, and later opened a nightclub in which everyone in the family performed music. When Mark was old enough, he joined the family’s entertainment. Over the next many years, the Rust family traveled and performed widely at concerts and festivals.
“An Evening with Alan and Lawrence,” premiering at SUNY Oswego on Dec. 5, is the latest in a long line of original productions penned by Mark Cole, professor and chair of theatre at SUNY Oswego.
SUNY Oswego students and faculty will deliver an early holiday present to the community, the annual “Feast of Carols” concert, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
This Sunday, November 23rd, the Oswego Community Youth Orchestra (OCYO) will present “A European Odyssey: Works of Vaughan Williams, Haydn, Brahms, Jenkins, and Glinka”. Under the direction of Jackie Darvill, featured soloists include Elizabeth Guernsey, Jenna Skubis, and Dolores Walrath.
