Cassady is a super friendly teenager, good with her foster mom’s little yippy dogs and her other cats. She is also very affectionate toward people, so much so that it’s hard to take her picture because she wants to just give you little cat kisses. So you have to trust us that she is truly very pretty with a little half bob tail.
My grandchildren, ages 2 and 3, are coming to visit in a few weeks and my new dog, Sheba, has never met them before. They have been around their own dogs and are not afraid of them but I am a little worried about Sheba, who has never been around any children.
Trip is a friendly, cuddly, gray tiger cat who loves to be held, and loves to sit in your lap. He will rub against your legs to let you know he’s hungry. That’s cat language for “When’s dinner?” He is very good with kids and still in the process of learning how to warm up to other animals.
My cat Sweet Pea was rescued many years ago from life in a dumpster and she has always preferred to spend most of her time outside cold. My only problem with her is that almost every morning she leaves “parts,” guts really, of whatever rodent she has snacked on during then night on my front porch, on the rug, right where I normally step down first thing.
Harrison has been with his foster mom long enough that he’s aged up from a sweet cuddly guy with all the usual kitten spunkiness to a teenager who loves to lay around and air out his belly. You know how lazy those teenagers can be! As you can see, he loves other cats of all shapes and sizes.
Many of us have lived around here for most of our lives, so why are we always surprised when it snows in October? Think about it. That said, around this time of year we always hear from kind-hearted people who have seen a stray cat hanging around their house or hiding under the porch. Most of the time they are feeding it, and many of these cats are too afraid to do anything but sneak up to eat the food.
Jazzy and Jager are sweet and cuddly babies, about twelve weeks old, ready to go to their own home. They would love to go together but if you only need one bookend, that’s OK too. They’re good with the other cats and dogs in their foster mom’s home.
I would first like to tell you that I think you do a wonderful job for our community. I was just reading about Marley, the cat featured up for adoption on Oswego County Today online. What a great way to communicate with the public. Even though I cannot have a pet, I love animals and always enjoy seeing them featured and walking around my neighborhood. The reason that I am writing is, that as much as I love the cats and mostly dogs in my neighborhood, I do not always enjoy the parents.
Tucker is everything you expect from a young happy boy. He’s not a kitten anymore. He spends about 80% of his day lounging on his bed watching the world. But when he is up and playing he’s great with other cats, dogs and children. He especially likes morning and evening cuddles. In short, he’s a well-rounded perfect cat and totally handsome to boot.
We would usually claim that we hate to nag you. But, then we looked at all of our past columns about Halloween and realized that we actually do nag a fair amount. But nagging works! So here we go again. The truth about Halloween is that most pets sort of hate it. For them, it’s just people, including their own personal people, acting really weird.
