Gemma was found in Central Square and rescued by a kind lady who already had a houseful of kitties of her own. She was nervous in her foster home at first with its other cats, but has now settled down. She likes to be petted, you can pick her up and when she has the run of the house, she wanders about to check out the area, plays with cat toys, and investigates the bird cage!
I took my three-month-old puppy, Leo, in for his first vet visit yesterday and my vet told me that he could be neutered at five months with no problem. Bur when I checked on the internet I found all kinds of warnings about neutering your dog too early and the health problems it can cause. What do you think?
When Ally was found under a porch she was so thin that her rescuers thought she was a kitten. She was at least a year old but only weighed 4 pounds. Think about it. She was also scared and had no idea how to play.

We’ve talked about Cher before, but she still doesn’t have a home of her own. She likes other cats once she gets to know them. She loves, loves, loves the huge dogs in her foster home. She’s not one of those cats who follows you around stroking your ego. She is quiet and independent and likes to nap in any comfortable spot.
Someone just told me that over the course of six years, one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs, and over the course of seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats. She was trying to persuade me to have my cat spayed before she has any kittens. But honestly, if those figures were true, wouldn’t we be up to our elbows in cats and dogs?
Pookie has no reason to love people. She was dropped off on a country road in Hannibal at the end of January. By the time we found her, she was scared and starving. But as soon as she figured out that we were kind (and had food for her), it was love at first sight. She is spayed now and up to date with her shots and totally, mind bogglingly, affectionate.
My big old black lab, Pluto, does not run around outside as much as he used to and I am noticing that when he walks on the hardwood floors in my house I can hear his nails clicking on the floor. I suppose I need to figure out how to trim his nails. But, I don’t have a clue even where to begin.
Cayleigh is a sweet, playful, and friendly little tabby girl. She loves to sleep in the bathroom sink and runs around like a lunatic chasing the laser light. Her favorite toy of all time is hair ties!
