OK, so I’m sort of a manly guy, if you know what I mean. I adopted this cat, George, thinking he would add to my manly image – plus I just love cats; how aloof and independent they are – like me. So far, so good, except that when George (who is huge and tough looking, like me) sits on my lap he insists upon sort of kneading the blanket that I put on my lap for him.
Pvt. Gary Monroe from Oswego, completed the Army’s rigorous basic combat training and advanced individual training, culminating with a ceremony held December 4 at the Auburn Armory in Auburn to mark start of training with their new unit, the Company B, 2-108th Infantry.
Cards collected – which were donated by students community groups, local businesses, individuals and families – were part of the more than 200,000 distributed through the Christmas Cards for Our Troops program this year.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is taking reservations for Camp Hollis and Camp Zerbe for the 2017 season. Camp Hollis and Camp Zerbe are owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
Gracia Thompson’s Fulton High School class won second place in the 2016 Parade of Trees at the John Wells Pratt House Museum.
Robert and Elizabeth McGrath, owners of The Clubhouse Tavern in Oswego, lent their support to United Way of Greater Oswego County. They organized and hosted A Night of Drinks and Dancing, a special event to benefit the agency’s community fund.
