In its 12th year at SUNY Oswego, the project is part of an annual statewide community-service project by Student-Athlete Advisory Council chapters at some SUNY Athletic Conference colleges. SAAC’s mission is to generate a student-athlete voice among Oswego’s intercollegiate teams and to enhance school spirit within athletics.
The curtain rises Oct. 27, for “Tyler Hall Take Two Debut,” SUNY Oswego’s festive week of marquee events and open houses welcoming the community, alumni and all of campus to the college’s renovated home for the fine and performing arts, as well as highlighting all that the School of Communication, Media and the Arts has to offer.
CNY Arts Center announces a busy schedule with a season of art classes at the new CNY Arts Center Downtown Studio. The community Arts Center is expanding its programming to offer art activities for all ages in a variety of options and opportunities.
Linda Tyrell of Harbor Towne Gifts in Oswego presented Oswego Hospital Auxiliary President Julie Burns with a donation of women’s accessories for the auxiliary’s Annual Fall Bazaar, which will be held October 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day in the hospital lobby.
The Oswego County Historical Society is proudly celebrating the 75th anniversary of the historic landmark Oswego Theatre, which opened it doors in January of 1941. A classic movie night showing the popular film “Casablanca” will be featured on October 13 at 7 p.m. in the Oswego Theatre located at 138 W. Second St.
The Central Square Library Fall Fundraiser will take place on October 16 from 2-5 p.m. at the Glennwood Golf Course in West Monroe. Moss Back Mule Band will perform that afternoon.
On October 19 from 5 to 8 p.m., Oswego Health will hold its second annual Power of Pink event which will bring attention to the issue of breast cancer at the Fulton Medical Center, 510 S. Fourth St.
Taught by certified instructors, the American Red Cross children’s swim lessons will include sessions for students in first through sixth grades, and parent and child classes for 4- and 5-year-olds.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian LaVerne DeLand introduced Bill Conole, representing the Honor Flight Program. The program recognizes and honors the sacrifices and commitments of veterans, primarily from World War II, but also the Korean and Vietnam wars as well.
