CNY Arts Center is seeking donations of gently used Halloween costumes from the community in exchange for a $2 coupon toward the purchase of any other donated costume at its fourth annual Arts Market, September 13 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the former Nestles parking lot on Fay Street.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Sheila Scruton with a certificate of appreciation for her 19 years of service with the county. Scruton recently retired from her position as a clerk in the Stop DWI Program with the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office.
The Great Shipwrecks of NY’s ‘Great’ Lakes Signature Exhibit presented by New York Sea Grant and The Great New York State Fair is adding new displays and expanding its in-water demonstrations. The exhibit is located in and along the reflecting pool at the mini-NY State Park at the Fairgrounds.

The Oswego County Legislature held its August meeting at the H. Douglas Barclay Courthouse in Pulaski. For nearly a century, the county operated with two seats, one in Pulaski and the other in Oswego. This annual meeting honors that heritage.
More than 75 people sampled the wonderful, healthy food at the AmeriCorps booth at the recent Oswego Farmers’ Market. Oswego AmeriCorps mission is “to serve the county youth by providing mentoring, nutrition education, and fitness activities.” As current volunteers of Oswego AmeriCorps, Allie Scorzelli and Rachel Verdoliva, were aiming to do just that.
The city of Fulton Department of Parks and Recreation is once again sponsoring Line Dance Instruction featuring popular dance instructor, Phil Eno. Instruction will begin in the Fulton Municipal Building Community Room at 141 S. First St., on September 9 at 7 p.m. and every Tuesday after, with October 21 being the last class.
SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Art Gallery @ Penfield Library will host its first exhibition starting Sept. 6, as the main gallery awaits its rebirth in renovated Tyler Hall about a year and half from now. Running through Oct. 4 on the second floor of Penfield Library, the exhibition will feature a pair of displays.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Deputy Kevin Ahart with a certificate of appreciation for his 15 years of service with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
Approximately 560 new transfer students will continue their studies at SUNY Oneonta this fall. Classes start on Aug. 25.
