Financial Opportunities Available to Help Kids Attend Camp Hollis This Summer

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is excited about a new opportunity available to kids and families to help them attend Camp Hollis this summer! Families who qualify can send their 9- to 14-year-old children to camp for a week at no cost to the family. Oswego County families that fall under the 200 percent poverty guidelines may qualify for assistance with camp fees.

Oswego City School District Educator Named to National ‘Dream Team’

Dennis Pawlikowski, a math teacher at Oswego Middle School in Oswego City School District, spent June 4-7 in New Orleans participating in TeachFest, a unique professional development event focused on creating high-quality Common Core curricular resources. Pawlikowski attended the event as part of LearnZillion’s Dream Team of 200 talented math and English language arts (ELA) teachers.

AGL and District DGHP visit Lake Ontario 165 Royal Arch Masons

On June 1, George A. Reed, Assistant Grand Lecturer, and District Deputy Grand High Priest John B. Covell made their annual official visit to Lake Ontario No. 165 Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. The Royal Arch Masons enjoyed a ham supper together, prepared by Lake City Victoria Eastern Star at their Chapter located at 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego.
