State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she is now accepting nominations for her “Golden Apple” Award for Teaching Excellence, an honor designed to recognize teachers who go above and beyond to help students succeed.
The series will address many of the concerns and obstacles that people in our community face: depression, anxiety, emotional disorders, relational struggles and many more applicable issues.

The Lakeside Artisans put all their eggs in one basket for Easter. Sharing the theme of Easter eggs and baskets, the artists at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., have created many variations on that theme.
John C. Birdlebough High School students and senior citizens in the Phoenix and surrounding communities enjoyed an evening out at the 15th Annual Senior Citizen Ball. Hosted by the school’s Student Council Leadership Team, more than 100 senior citizens turned out for the elegant affair.

Students in Exceptional Education at Oswego County BOCES recently created a wall display of wind and cloud systems as part of a science unit.
Oswego High School artist Brenna Riley won the “Best of Show” with her beautiful self-portrait graphite drawing “Oliver” while Carrie Gilbert and won “First Place “overall with her amazing detail drawing “Clarinet” at the Oswego County Student Art Competition. This competition, which is open to all Oswego County school districts, attracted more than 500 art pieces.
