Universal Pre-Kindergarten teachers in the Fulton school district’s elementary schools participate in quarterly joint collaboration meetings with the district’s Director of Literacy and UPK, Carri Waloven. The team collectively discuss progress through the curriculum, content objectives and instructional strategies that they have found to be successful.

As part of OCO Nutrition Services’ March for Meals Campaign the managers at each of OCO’s Dining and Activity Centers are seeking to obtain 300 ‘Likes’ on OCO’s Nutrition Services’ Facebook page, “OCO Senior Centers.” The page has photos of the latest happenings at OCO Dining and Activity Centers along with a complete listing of the events.
Meals and math were served up at Fairgrieve Elementary School’s Lunch and Learn on March 11 in the cafeteria. Third graders displayed their math prowess during a brain gym exercise, which got their bodies and their minds moving.
Leadership and learning go hand-in-hand and truly capture the essence of a new student group that was established this school year at the Sandy Creek Middle School. School Principal Carolyn Shirley introduced the idea of a student leadership group as a way to develop leadership skills and promote multi-grade level collaboration at the school.
The school has teamed up with Hikers for the Homeless, a Phoenix-based non-profit organization to help create over 100 Easter baskets for people in the district’s community that do not have a permanent residence.
