SUNY Oswego art exhibitions to explore Dust Bowl, water

SUNY Oswego will open two exhibitions, one focused on rural hardships during the Dust Bowl and Depression, the other on sculpture inspired by water, on Sept. 6, in Tyler Art Gallery. Both exhibitions, “The Era of the Dust Bowl,” in conjunction with the college’s Oswego Reading Initiative, and an installation titled “Ebb & Flow,” will run through Oct. 5 in the gallery in Tyler Hall.

Learn about Emerald Ash Borer at Tree Tagging Event Aug. 17 at Rice Creek

The Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District, a partner in the St. Lawrence-Eastern Lake Ontario Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management, and The Nature Conservancy have joined forces to raise awareness of the invasive emerald ash borer beetle. The agencies will host an ash tree tagging event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station.
