The Zonta Club of Oswego will be providing the next Oswego County Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on August 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. They will be serving roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable and tossed salad.

Dean’s List status is awarded to students who earn a 3.6 grade point average or better.

Residents in Mexico and the surrounding area will have the opportunity to enjoy the goodness of fresh fruit and vegetables as OCO’s Community Service Center, 5871 Scenic Ave., will host the Mexico Farmers’ Market. An initiative of the Nutrition Collaboration of Oswego County, the Mexico Farmers’ Market will be held August 7 from 4 to 7 p.m.

As part of the CYO Summer Program participants can learn basic tennis skills along with fitness instruction and nutrition education each Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the CYO facilities at 365 W. First St. in Fulton.

Jack Beckwith Jr. has announced his candidacy for Hannibal Town Justice. Beckwith stated that he is running to “bring dedication and integrity to the town justice court.”

SUNY Oswego has awarded merit scholarships to more than 600 incoming students, including $18,800 Presidential Scholarships to the following local residents.

The seventh annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest, a benefit for Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, takes place on Sept. 20, from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge #271.

To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete at least 12 credit hours.

The Lura M. Sharp Elementary School has welcomed nearly 20 fresh faces to its school. The Incoming Kindergarten Summer Program that started July 15 accepts children with no prior formal education in the Pulaski Academy & Central School District.
