Human Concerns, Oswego’s emergency food pantry, along with AmeriCorps member Evan Oustrich is conducting a backpack drive to aid the United Way’s Stuff-a-Bus campaign. They will be collecting both gently used and new backpacks. It will take place August 5-13.
Oswego AmeriCorps members Eryn and Tyffany Howlett are currently running the Summer Reading Program “Dig into Reading” at the Annie P. Ainsworth Memorial Library in Sandy Creek. This program is for children in Pre-K through fifth grade that have fun reading and enjoy being with other children who love to read.

The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for cats, dogs, and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7, at the Granby Town Highway Garage, 820 County Route 8. New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies. The first rabies vaccine should be given at three months of age.
