The CNY Arts Center of Fulton has announced its latest writing classes. Journal Entries – On a Personal Note will be offered on July 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. Writers On The Road is a class that will take place at the Arts Center’s new “Arts in the Heart” Gallery, located at 47 S. First St., in downtown Fulton. The program will take place on July 20 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Elizabeth Ramsey with a certificate of appreciation for her 25 years of service.
Beginning in August, the Oswego County Health Department will hold walk-in immunization clinics twice a month at the Barclay Courthouse for the convenience of students who need their back-to-school shots.
My new adopted pal, Bubba, a black lab mix, is about nine months old now and he is perfect in every way except one. He is an ingrate! No, really. I keep buying him toys and he keeps destroying them – all of them. It is so frustrating! I would really like to be able to play with him all the time, fetch, or tug of war, or whatever.
Oswego County AmeriCorps member Eve Simmonds will be hosting a food drive that will benefit the Catholic Charities of Oswego County Food Pantry. The drive will be held from July 19 through 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Voorhees Park in Fulton. Accepted donations include non-perishable food, such as canned fruits, canned vegetables, rice, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, and pasta.
The SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse will host a free workshop on gender discrimination and gender representation from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. July 22, led by college Scholar in Residence Sanjukta Dasgupta.
The library’s lighthouse exhibit will be in place until August 5. The public is invited to a reception on July 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. to meet the current keeper, Ted Panayotoff, and enjoy some refreshments. Ted has extensively researched the West Pierhead Lighthouse and will be available to answer any questions.
The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center, located on the West First Street Pier in Oswego’s Historic Maritime District, has extended hours to 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Sunday throughout July and August.
