The Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women membership includes working women and retirees. They support local groups and organizations. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at Vona’s in Oswego at 6 p.m. with the exception of July and August.
The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center is swabbing the decks for a hearty afternoon of pirate carousing. Brush off your eye patch, grab your parrot and sign up for a Kids’ Pirate Party on July 11 or July 24 (10 a.m. – noon). Fun will abound in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District.”
The following local students were named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at SUNY Buffalo State. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.
For adolescent survivors of sexual abuse, healing from this traumatic experience is often quite a difficult process. However, in times like these the services offered through the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County are able to provide the survivor with the tools necessary to expedite the healing process.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County.
On behalf of the Oswego City School District Music Department, I would like to thank the Oswego High School Class of 1962 for its most generous monetary donation. Some of the most famous and influential people in United States history gathered in one place last week, Lanigan Elementary School in the Fulton City School District. The gathering was a “Biography Bonanza,” featuring students in the school’s second grade classes.
The Fulton Idol – “A Star-Making Experience” will be held August 5 – 9 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the First United Church of Fulton, 33 S. The Oswego City School District will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be offered at Fitzhugh Park Elementary, Oswego High School, and through the YMCA and will be provided to all children 18 years and under without charge.
Assemblymen Colton, Barclay, and Senator John DeFrancisco (R-Syracuse), introduced (A.6223/S.4170), which exempts members of the military from having to pay sales and use tax on vehicles in New York, upon returning to New York.
