The CNY Arts Center has announced the latest recipient of its volunteer recognition award. The Arts Center, which serves Fulton and its surrounding communities, strives to engage people of all ages with all arts.
The Minetto Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual chicken BBQ on June 9 from 11 a.m. until sold out at the Minetto Fire Station, 12 Barrett Drive in Minetto. The dinner menu features ½ chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, and a dinner roll for $10. Customers can purchase a ½ chicken only for $4.50.
The following local students were among the 548 students awarded a degree at St. Lawrence University’s Commencement ceremony, held May 19 on campus in Canton.
Students in the Hannibal Central School District will be released 15 minutes early on June 20 as a preparedness drill in compliance with the district’s Emergency Response Plan.
This is an annual requirement for all schools in New York State.
The CNY Arts Center of Fulton announces its next Author’s Spotlight, a monthly program that introduces local writers and their recently published works to the community. On June 19 at 7 p.m., author Lisa Buske will offer a presentation and reading from her book, Where’s Heidi?, One Sister’s Journey.

The City of Oswego and The Musicians Union of Oswego County are pleased to announce the schedule of free concerts for 2013. The 2013 Summer Sunset Concert Series, an Oswego tradition since 1935, marks the 78th year of this community program. All concerts are scheduled for Wednesday evenings in Breitbeck Park.
The Pulaski Public Library Annual Book Sale will be held at the Snow Memorial Building Auditorium, 4917 N. Jefferson St., Pulaski. The hours will be July 25, noon to 7 p.m., July 26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 27, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Parents and community members turned out to see what budding scientists and researchers at the school have been working on and visit with some of the local community health and wellness organizations in the gymnasium.
County residents pursuing a career in the health care field may be able to receive some extra financial aid courtesy of the Rural Health Network of Oswego County. Coordinator, Danielle Wert, has announced that the group will once again offer scholarships to Oswego County residents who are enrolled or have been accepted in to a University / College or recognized program and are pursuing a major in the health care field.
