The Oswego County Workforce New York office will sponsor a panel discussion of local employers at the new Cayuga Community College campus, 11 River Glen Plaza, from 1 to 4 p.m. May 7. The event is free and open to the public.
The two Fulton Rotary clubs will be co-sponsoring a high school exchange student during the 2013-14 school year. The clubs have been assigned a 17-year-old girl student from Brazil. Rotary requires that the students stay in three homes during each school year.
Tyler Art Gallery, Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition features work by 28 graduating seniors. Each student artist is presenting a body of work as part of the culmination thesis process embedded in the B.F.A. degree program. The public is invited to a reception on April 29 from 5 – 7 p.m.

A physician with experience working in area emergency rooms, Dr. Emani is now providing full-time care in Oswego Hospital’s ER.
The Oz Roller Derby league will host a recruitment event at noon April 21 for a number of roles in Oswego’s fastest growing sport. The league seeks skaters, referees and a number of non-skating officials (NSO) plus other volunteer positions.
On both April 13 and 14 we were open and helped many visitors with research. We were especially pleased to welcome Penny Schott home. Penny was our chief researcher and librarian for many years until she moved to New Hampshire. She and a friend returned for a visit and brought us four boxes of genealogy and research books for our library.
During school break, three of our school age students at Discovery Day Care played a “fun” game of Monopoly. The students learned to count money, make decision on buying property and worked together as a team.
A wide variety of items for all ages will be available during Port City Roller Derby’s Let’s Get Ready to Rummage Sale on April 27. The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Cove, the non-profit organization’s facility at Oswego’s Midtown Plaza.
