Go Purple For Domestic Violence

In recognition of Domestic Violence Month, OCO’s Services to Aid Families program has partnered with Hot Trends Hair Salon, 501 E. Broadway in Fulton, to help community members Go Purple! Throughout the month of October, Owner, Dawn Billion and stylist, Stephanie Richards of Hot Trends Hair Salon are offering community members the opportunity to have a single purple hair extension added to their hair for $10, of which $5 will be donated to the SAF Program to aid in its efforts of raising awareness of and combating domestic violence in Oswego County. In an effort to raise community awareness about the devastating impact of domestic violence and what services are available for victims in Oswego County, Services to Aid Families (SAF), a program of Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. (OCO), is asking community members to “Go Purple” as they recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Scout Works To Spruce Up Great Bear

Kyle Kemp looks over the the new bridge he worked on building for the final part of his Eagle Scout project.

The project entailed a walkthrough with members of Friends of Great Bear and a forester from Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District, identifying select areas in need of repair. Once the areas were identified, it was discussed and determined how each section would be repaired. Quantity, type of materials and tools needed were then determined.
