SUNY Oswego is launching the SUNY system’s first multiple-major co-op program, which can place students into full-time paying jobs in their areas of interest for up to six months.
In an effort to raise community awareness about the devastating impact of domestic violence and what services are available for victims in Oswego County, Services to Aid Families (SAF), a program of Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. (OCO), is asking community members to “Go Purple” as they recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Attic Teen Center at the First United Methodist Church, 1408 St. Rt. 176, Fulton (across from the Jr. High) invites all youth in the community, grades 7-12, to participate.
The project entailed a walkthrough with members of Friends of Great Bear and a forester from Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District, identifying select areas in need of repair. Once the areas were identified, it was discussed and determined how each section would be repaired. Quantity, type of materials and tools needed were then determined.
The United Way of Greater Oswego County is once again offering its donors the opportunity to be rewarded for helping their community.
As a follow-up to its overflowing waiting list at the recent Get Health Connected health fair at the OnCenter, Aurora of CNY is offering more free vision screenings at its office in Syracuse.
