Dozens of veterans, community members and veterans service organizations traveled to various locations throughout Fulton to honor the nation’s fallen. Beginning at St. Mary’s Cemetery, a small ceremony was held at each of four locations including Mount Adnah Cemetery, the War Memorial, and finally, Veterans Park.

Two Fulton Police Department veterans are retiring from the department and will embark on new journeys, one of which has begun a new position serving the community as the city’s new animal control officer.
Fulton Board of Education Vice President Dan Pawlewicz was presented the Board Mastery Award at Tuesday’s (May 22) regular meeting. The award recognizes school board members across New York State that earned at least 250 points as recorded by the New York State School Board Association. Board members receive points by participating in any NYSSBA development activities.
The city of Fulton will host its annual Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 26, at about 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the intersection of Division and South Fourth streets and will travel north on South Fourth Street, west on East Broadway and continue west on West Broadway to the Fulton War Memorial located at 609 W. Broadway.

A truckload of flags pulled into Mount Adnah Cemetery as dozens of volunteers braved the rain to place flags on the graves of veterans and fallen fire and police department members.

Several hundred eager special education student athletes traveled to Phoenix Central School District to participate in the 2018 Oswego County Olympiad. As the bleachers filled with fans roaring in support, students of all ages, developmental and physical abilities from ten school districts in Oswego County joined together to compete in several track and field events.
