Fulton: Third Poorest District, Approves School Budget

The $71,992,850 budget for the 2018-2019 school year was unanimously approved by the Fulton City School District Board of Education at Thursday’s (April 19) meeting. Seven currently staffed secondary level full-time employment positions will be laid off with the addition of one other full-time employment position lost as an unfilled retirement. Funds were cut from summer cleaning at a rate of $37,500 as well as $60,000 from transportation. Additionally, the district will seek the maximum allowable tax cap increase at 2.02 percent.
