The city of Fulton got into the Christmas spirit during its annual tree lighting jubilee. Held at the municipal building both inside and outside, as well as at the Public Library, a crowd of considerable size showed up to partake in the festivities. Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, Barry Ostrander, said the event had an excellent turnout this year. “This is probably the biggest one yet. We’ve had good turnouts in the past but this appears to be the biggest,” said Ostrander.
On Saturday (December 5), at approximately 6:20 a.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a one-car crash on County Route 45 in the town of Palermo. The driver was ejected and thrown sixty feet.
On Dec. 1, Fulton Police charged Jared J. Sieber, 33, of Fulton, with an assortment of criminal charges following the investigation into a physical domestic dispute. At about 12:30 p.m., it is alleged that Sieber violated a stay-away order of protection issued by Fulton City Court by being at the home of the victim. Sieber then allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck, pushed her to the floor, and choked the victim until she began to lose consciousness.

Today (December 3), State Police arrested Judy S. Flynn, 56, of Fulton, for Vehicle Manslaughter 2nd, DWI and other traffic citations regarding the fatal crash that occurred on November 10 in which Joyce K. Rice was killed.

The Fulton city common council approved the final 2016 budget after a public hearing held Tuesday. Starting the budget process with a 10% tax increase in the first draft; the mayor, councilmen and city clerk/chamberlain worked through the weeks to go over the budget meticulously and make any cuts to lower the tax increase as much as possible. In its final and approved stage, the $15.9 million budget brings forth an overall increase of $261,091 from the 2015 budget and a 4.3% tax increase.
During the early morning hours today (Dec. 1), the city of Fulton Police Department, along with members of the New York State Police and the Oswego County Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at 7 N. Seventh St. in the city of Fulton.
Inside the two-family residence, police reportedly discovered a large quantity of materials associated with the manufacture of methamphetamine.
