Miles of Smiles Track Walk to Benefit Kids Battling Cancer

The KEYS Program and the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club invite you to join them for the first ever “Miles of Smiles Track Walk” on August 22 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Oswego County Quarter Midget track at 37 Howard Road in Fulton. They will walk 10 laps on the track to create one mile of smiles for kids battling cancer. There will be fun for the whole family with race cars on display, a driver autograph session, great music, and awards for the teams who raise the most funds.

K&N’s Celebrates A Year Of Growth In Fulton

With the one-year anniversary of its operations approaching, the leadership at K&N’s Foods USA in Fulton is feeling optimistic about where the company is headed. Located in the former BirdsEye Foods plant on Phillips Street, K&N’s began setting up shop in Fulton — its flagship operation in the United States — in 2013, and started commercial production on Aug. 4, 2014. By the end of September 2014, it had completed its first sale, and has continued lining up new distributors since.

Third Annual ‘Ladies Rule the Range’ Right On Target

100 energetic women packed into Pathfinder Fish and Game Club recently to test their aim with multiple different firearms. The third annual Ladies Rule the Range event saw great success and reached the desired goal, 100 participants. Starting out with 50 women in its first year, the event grew into its second year with 81 women participating. With more than 40 instructors, the ladies were very actively and accurately briefed on the handling of seven separate stations of firearms.

Fulton Crowns Its ‘Idol’

Thirteen young contestants anxiously took the stage recently to sing their hearts out in hopes of being crowned “Fulton Idol.” As the contestants anxiously awaited the results, Alexis Barth, an eighth grader at Fulton Junior High School, was all smiles as she realized she had won the title of Fulton Idol. She had competed in Fulton Idol last year and took home fourth place.

Fulton School Board Seeks Consultant Help with Elementary Enrollment Study

The Fulton School District Board of Education will be reaching out to a consultant for assistance in a study regarding class sizes at the elementary level. In a regular board meeting at the end of the school year, class sizes for the four elementary schools for next year were presented. The board was asked for permission to conduct a study into these numbers and possible outcomes for remedying the issues.

Fulton School Board Appoints Officers For New School Year

The Fulton Board of Education held its annual reorganizational meeting and appointed its officers for the 2015-2016 school year. The board named David Cordone as president and returned Dan Pawlewicz as vice president and Barbara Hubbard as clerk. Cordone was later acknowledged in the regular meeting of the board of education for recognition of the amount of board development activities he has participated in over the years.

Fulton Council Approves Sale Of Two Nestles Properties

Nestles Building #30, located on Fay Street, and the adjoining parking lot, located on South Fourth Street were sold to Gary E. Springs of Spring Storage Park at the July 7 Common Council meeting. The council unanimously approved the sale. Springs intends to use the building and parking lot for warehousing and his U-Haul business.
