Phoenix Finally Fixes Water Woes

Concern over smelly brown drinking water flowing from the taps of village homes and businesses has the community at odds but Phoenix leaders have finally charted a clear direction to address contamination at its wells, and perhaps finally cure the water’s dirty cast.
During its Oct. 21 meeting, Village Trustees decided to move forward with a plan to contract with the Metropolitan Water Board – the administrative arm of the Onondaga County Water District – for a clean drinking water supply for village of Phoenix residents and businesses.

Multi-Agency Checkpoint In Fulton Results In Numerous Arrests

On December 20, the Fulton Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint along with members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Park Police, New York State Police and SUNY Oswego Campus Police. Immediately following the checkpoint officers conducted active roving DWI patrols. Numerous defendants were arrested and/or were issued traffic tickets during the checkpoint and patrols.

New Audible Pedestrian Signals Installed In Fulton

Eight new audible pedestrian signals have been installed in Fulton to increase pedestrian safety for people with visual impairments. The signals are at the intersection of Route 3/Route 48 and at the corner of Route 481 and Oneida Street. Audible pedestrian signals are specialized crossing devices that provide visual, tactile, and audio cues.

Fulton Police Stop Burglary in Progress

Fulton Police arrested two men on the city’s west side after they were found allegedly trying to steal copper plumbing from inside a vacant house. At about 12:13 a.m. on Sunday, police received a report of two males acting suspiciously around 514 Hannibal St., a vacant house. Police responded and found fresh tracks in the snow leading to the attached garage of the residence.

Local Man Arrested For Phoenix Drugstore Robbery

A local man accused of robbing drugs at gunpoint from the corner drugstore in the village of Phoenix was caught by police Thursday (Dec. 18) and arraigned in Schroeppel Town Court on five felony and misdemeanor charges.

Cody M. Hall, who turned 22 years-old on Thursday, of county Route 10, Pennellville, was apprehended in the town of Cicero Thursday morning by several police agencies.
