Fulton ALDI Food Store Plan Unveiled
City of Fulton residents got their first peak at the proposed ALDI Food Store layout during the Common Council public hearing Tuesday as councilors approved a special permit to use the former Nestle’s site as a grocery store.
“Nestle’s is a great spot,” one resident said. “I would love to see the eyesore gone. Nestle’s isn’t going to reopen. We’ve got to get rid of it. When you come in to town you’re going to see a nice new grocery store, and that’s nothing but positive.”
Local Fulton grocers concerned about competing against a big retailer with deep pockets in an industry with already low profit margins spoke against granting special permit status to property on the city’s east side.
The Fulton Public Library is looking for people who have lived or worked in Fulton and have stories to tell about those experiences. For the second year, the library is offering its Fulton Memoir Project. The theme for this year’s project is business and education. Those interested should contact the library now to register.
Future leaders of Oswego County focused their attention on media interaction during Leadership Oswego County’s meeting Friday and Oswego County Today was there. In its 21st year, Leadership Oswego County is an annually selected group of county residents who make a nine-month commitment to learn more about how to become effective leaders for the future.
