Fulton Capital Project Spending ‘Could Save $4 Million’

Superintendent Bill Lynch addresses people in attendance at the capital project public hearing Wednesday.Fulton City School District voters will cast their ballots Feb. 4 for projects totaling $4.4 million to maintain the districts buildings and to keep the children and employees more secure, but with state aid the local taxpayer’s burden would be a fraction of that amount. Due to building aid money provided by state aid, and an infusion of $150,000 from the district’s savings for such projects, the final cost to school district taxpayers is expected to be less than $44,000.

Fulton School Board To Meet Tuesday

Fulton City School District Superintendent Bill Lynch said during a coffee meeting at the high school Saturday that what the governor has come out with for school aid is unfortunate. “It’s discouraging,” Lynch said.”It’s the same situation we’ve been in year after year. He’s not directing the funds to operate the school district.” The board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Fulton Junior High School on Curtis Street.

Fulton Residents Share Comments, Concerns With School Officials

Superintendent of Schools Bill Lynch, Executive Director of Instruction and Assessment Elizabeth Connor, Director of Personnel Thomas Greer and several BOE members were on hand to hear and discuss openly anything the parents wanted to talk about.
