Despite cooler than normal temperatures for May, people lined the streets in Fulton on Saturday to take in the Memorial Day Parade. Wrapped in blankets and sweatshirts families set up their folding chairs and waited for the lights and sirens from Fulton Police Department signifying the start of the show.
At approximately 4:10 pm Sunday, the New York State Police and Oswego County Sheriff’s Department responded to 63 County Route 32 in Hastings for the report of a suicidal subject. Upon their arrival, a shot was fired from the residence.

On Friday evening there were many activities held at Recreation Park on Route 3, West Broadway. Local and nationally recognized groups played music. And then, there were the fireworks. The event hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

Jessica Naioti had trouble finding childcare for her 2 ½ year old son, Benjamin. Seeing this need for drop-in childcare in Oswego County, as well as a place for teens to hang out inspired the idea for Sunshine Community and Childcare Center, located on Schuyler Street in the former Red’s Videos storefront.
Authorities are searching for the cause of Thursday’s fire in Granby. Multiple fire departments responded to the fire on County Route 8 near Cedarwood Drive shortly after 5 p.m. There were no reports of any injuries.
A public meeting will be held on June 5 to help draft the Eastern Lake Ontario Unit Management Plan, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced. The meeting sessions will be held at the DEC’s Salmon River Fish Hatchery, 2133 County Route 22, Altmar, from 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
