At approximately 1:45 p.m. today (Feb. 23), State Police in North Syracuse responded to 8904 Beach Road in the Town of Cicero for a reported person who fell through the ice with his dog. Three Oswego County men helped with the rescue.
The owner of Black Creek Lumber Company on County Route 57 in Volney, lost his entire business to fire Monday morning.

According to WWNY-TV in Watertown, John Altman, III of Fulton suffered injuries in a crash during a vintage snowmobile race in Gouverneur Saturday.
The crash killed a racer from Ontario and forced the rest of the day’s races to be cancelled.
