The Oswego County Health Department reports that the eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus has been found in mosquitoes collected in the village of Central Square and on county Route 6, south of NYS Route 3, in Volney. The virus was previously found in mosquitoes collected at Toad Harbor/Big Bay Swamp in West Monroe and in the northeastern section of the Town of Palermo.
The heat and humidity will be back for the weekend. But – will showers return as well?

Fulton officials will soon begin to put plans on paper to try to bring back to life some of the parcels of land on the city’s west side that have been targeted for help under the state’s brownfields program.
August has been rain-free. But, all that could change later today.
